PlumCrazy's Build

No real update on the 4x4 truck...but it's going under the knife soon. Redoing the entire radius arm, transmission/Tcase cross member setup.

I started by cleaning up a bay in the garage...and getting some little stuff done on the 2wd while its open.lol

Swapped the stock coils out for Splash coils. Still need to get the correct camber eccentrics, but I set the toe and I'll drive it a few days to get everything settled back into place before measuring for what I need.

It's basically the exact height I have been after.

I guess I never did post up the new shoes.

16.5 steelies I scored cheap, removed the plasti dip, scuffed and painted.

Then picked up some 37" Military take offs for street duty.

I had a whole ordeal getting tires... Ordered ON eBay and they showed up... Nothing like the description. They were nearly bald, cupped, and one had bullet holes.

After a few messages and angry emails...We settled outside of eBay. Guy ended up going above and beyond...Drove from Missouri to deliver another set of basically new tires and take the original garbage back. I am extremely satisfied with these.

Looking much better. :icon_thumby:

I didn't put them on a scale, but they are less than my 38.5 TSLs on DIY Beadlocks.

I'd say the tire mounted on a steel wheel is under 90lbs.

I would say they are 150+ with rubber runflats on the H1 rims

That thing's a tank.

how well do they roll?

they usually suk for vibes but are quiet at least. i hate mine in the snow even siped.....

i actually bought geolander snows this year after wiping out down the mountain in a work rig. but for non snow weather they are cost effective to say the least.

in reletives they are light in side wall but heavy on footprint, making them so shitty for cruising ime.

They are smooth as can be surprisingly. No vibes up to 80mph. I didn't even bother balancing them.

These things are practically new though, so they never had time to wear oddly or get a flat spot.

my buddy runs a set on his k5 blazer behind a 383, he tried to do a burnout the other night and whip the rear end around, the front tires were turned and it just pushed them forward... they suck.

for a summer beater tire they cant be beat!

Traction wise they do suck.lol, but I don't care, they are just street tires for me. I don't plan to get out in the salt so snow traction isn't an issue

glad to hear you have a good set. i usually get 2 that are ok and 2 that suk ass.

you cant beat them for non winter traction. my source died a bit back, so i been trying to find someone close to get them from. not easy to do reliably as you really want to pick a set yourself because they can be so rough. pretty sure i will try the bfg here this spring. there is a big dealer in florida i was going to go to again but the work down there still has not picked up...

I got them on eBay, guy raised the price after I bought my set and he lost his ass. He is now asking $150ea + about $200 freight per set.

Mine have no more than 1/32 wear. I think the standard take off has 5-6/32 wear and not always even. Hoping to really put some miles on the truck this year now that I have legitimate tires.

I bought mine from Trailworthy fab. I got 3 in great shape and one ugly thing.
