Basically no progress on the Ranger in the last couple weeks...my focus switched over to the OneFiddy after seeing so many clean OBS trucks at the Carlisle show and hardly any 80-86 trucks...

I did paint my extra grille..

Spray bombed with some GM touchup paint. It matched my OEM paint pretty well...

There is a paint store here in Newport that if you take them the paint code off the door, they can mix up a spray bomb of your paint color. it cost 20.00 for a can unless it's Red, then it's 25.00.

Gave my piston shift knobs to a coworker who has been working on his home made CNC machine. He his still tweaking it, but after a few tries the transfer case knob is done. He is putting the shift pattern into the transmission too.

I painted the pattern black and sanded the surface one last time to make it stand out

Not sure what I am doing with it just yet, maybe the OneFiddy will get OBA too...

Did my best with the ole volley ball to get the bedsides popped out and stuck a new tail light in the driver side, then I ripped off the flares and hacked the fenders out. I did bother to roll the lip under since I plan on ditching this bed before too long. Also with the rust I found and the inner bed side would have made it hard to do anyways.

I was able to just re-drill the corners and tweak the old bed supports over enough to brace it back like stock.

Just need to trim the sliders up a tad and call it good.

I had ordered some Long field solid joints for my 44, but they kept getting put on back order week after week, so I canceled the order a while back and bought the RCVs with the money and planned on just rocking the 760X joints and chromos until the HP44 was done.....

But...then I bought the 38.5s and REALLY wanted to wheel on them...so I bought some OX super joints last night in hopes of getting a few runs out of the EB 44 with the 38.5s...

I am planning on wheeling PA with Onebadexpo Labor day and would love to test out the new joints and tires if they show up in time...but only time will tell.

You'll be breaking something wheeling with Nick :icon_rofl: He has a knack for it lol

Last time I wheeled with him for 5 min before he blew his clutch apart...normally I am the first one broken before noon.lol

Yessir.

His clutch issue was bizarre for sure.lol The friction material just "vaporized" when he was engine braking down a steep hill.lol

Trimmed back the sliders to match the wheel well and capped them back off. I wish I could have trimmed more, but the rear most mount limits me...

The more I look around.. the more I want to find a compact truck service body for the Ranger...I can bump up to 3/4 ton Chevy leaves to compensate for the weight and carry all my spare parts and tools that I normally have to strap down in the bed anyway.

Basically a mini of this setup..

Stolen from this Pirate tread...(Damn Brad giving me expensive ideas all the time.....lol)

A Minnie service body would be sweet! But how long would those door stay on? Unless u put some kind of tubing to protect the body of it.

There is a second gen Ranger down the road from me that is sitting in the weeds with a small service body on it.
