PlumCrazy's Build

If I get that output from Nathen I can put a 4.0/2.5 hybrid M5OD back together. The ratios in 1,2, &
3 would give your 2.9 a fighting chance lol.

I paid somewhere around 300-350 for the trans in my truck, but it came out of a 95-97.

He doesn't know how rare the 2.3 4wd trans is. :icon_confused:

Would you happen to have a good shifter bushing/seal?

Yep, I know exactly how rare they are. Doesnt matter how rare they are if no-one wants to buy it....Ive had it listed for sale in my area and had ZERO interest. Tired of having it kicking around.

Yea Plum, Ill tear out that output shaft for you, I dunno, what do think is fair for it?

If you plan on just scrapping it anyway, I like 20 bucks plus shipping and you will still be able to scrap the rest. But I have no idea what your thinking. I don't NEED it, but i can always use a spare.

I was using my remote terminals and noticed they were getting rather warm after a short while. Turns out the connections were in pretty bad shape underneath.

When I made them I just used zinc coated hardware I already had laying around, but after a few years the positive terminal connection underneath was rusted up pretty bad. The 1/2" washers were almost gone

I replaced the bolts with stainless and the coupling nuts and washers with brass. I also applied liberal amounts of dielectric grease.

And these showed up finally.

Now that, my friend is an update! Skidplate looks amazing btw. I've never really had a problem w/ the OEM skidplate (knock on wood). I was lucky enough to find one in a JY one day and they gave it to me for free.

Ya know, it's pics like this that make me laugh at Zimmerman's first attempt at extended arms. I believe he used 3/4" Heims..... :icon_confused:

I almost went 7/8", but no one makes tube adapters for 2" box. The stock arms on RBV TTB and Ford wedge style arms only use 3/4" stubs on the bushing end.

I needed a new skid because the the doubler moved the tcase back and down. I always wanted something to cover the whole belly anyway. Im not worried about it being heavy enough to support the trucks weight, I just want it to prevent something like a rock or log from actually snagging on the case.

Good looking skid. Those JJ's should help your front end flex with the new arms.

I hope so. Im not extending them much though. I want to just modify my current mounts, so Ill only add 2" tops. I am going to see if the new arms alone gain me enough articulation to keep my current EB coils. If its still stiff then Ill break down and buy some 180 PPI Heep coils. I plan to build some caster into the new arms and swap out my 7* poly wedge bushings for some softer OEM rubber ones too. Im trying to get around buying coils if I can.lol I know Ill end up needing longer shocks too, but there is no way around that. I should have bought longer ones my first time around, but I was too lazy to make taller mounts.lol

Looks like the Green Bean will be getting a third pedal and a real transmission soon. I got a good deal on everything I need for the swap except for a driveshaft.
