Well, I got bored yesterday and decided to piece together a 2wd 3.0 trans with all the spare parts I have.lol.

I just need to get a few more things and ill be ready to swap a 5 speed into the Green Bean.

I have one of every style M5OD, 2.3, 3.0, 4.0, HD, tail housings with and without VSS, 2wd and 4x4, updated top covers and old style, and with the second neutral safety.lol.

I should be on hoarders.lol

I am starting to get parts for a doubler. Do you have any tail shafts that you dont need? Since you have a transmission warehouse.

I am out of 4x4 outputs.lol All I have is the snapped off one from the HD and the one I cut off for my first doubler shaft attempt. I would just get the shaft from D.D. Machine. Its a one piece design.

I probably have bushings, but like most all the seals are ripped. You can get them off Ebay for like 20 bucks.

2.3 4x4 trannies are easy to make. Use a 2wd housing and guts, swap in a 4x4 output and extension housing from any 4x4 M5OD.

Really? My buddy has a 5 speed out of a 88 2.3L. I should put it for sale on here eh? Its in perfect shape. What do those sell for? Probably more than a DD shaft

Correct. The one I have is a FM146. I have tried to sell it for him a few times. I offered him scrap value for it, but he paid like $400 for it.

I got the 146 in my truck too. Someday I will do a 4.0 M5OD swap. I need a 4.0 to drive it on the street. The 2.9 cant pull my 36s around over 40 mph.
