PlumCrazy's Build

Lookin good. How you liking the locker? Get much rattleing in your rear end from it I'm debating gettin one for my truck.

Not too bad. Only coasting around corners with the clutch in and it still in gear. In neutral it just clicks. I love it though, it tracks nice on the road.

New lights are on.

Spent most of my weekend getting the new project running

Finished my high idle setup. To engage it I just flip the switch and touch the gas pedal and just flip the switch back to idle back down.

And yes... I was about out of gas.lol

I need to come out one of these days. I really like this build. You have done a lot of creative modifications. Keep it up.

Let me know if you ever want to meet up sometime. I am thinking of trying to get a meet together around the Wooster area. I know there are quite a few guys around here.

The nice man with the brown truck dropped off something the other day.

Im not sure why so many people say D.D. Machine is hard to deal with. I messaged him on Ebay about getting a shaft for a BW1350 doubler he responded with a price and payment instructions and I received my parts less than a week later.

Took the truck out for a little wheelin and ended up losing reverse. I thought it was the T case at first, but I pulled the tranny plug and found this.

Then I pulled the trans apart and found this.

Luckily I have a few trannies laying around for parts, so other the time it will be free to fix.lol

Sat for seven years, and all it took was new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, fuel flushed out, and carb rebuilt and had it running like new.
Already got new tires, gauges, manifold, muffler, and and fluids waiting to go on.

Put humpty dumpty back together again last night. Seems to be good to go. Im still not sure what I did to destroy reverse in the first place. The gear on the output shaft only had one chipped tooth and the gear on the counter shaft was toofless.lol

Good thing I fixed the truck, because the tranny input seal on the Rabbit went out and dumped oil on the clutch, so it will hardly move.

I just put a head gasket, glow plugs, battery, and cables on it only to have something else fail. but 40 mpg makes up for it.lol

I hear ya about the vw...I used to have a turbodiesel Jetta, and got a consistent 45 mpg....straight piped with the fuel screw turned up. Miss that car....could roll coal on demand.

Non turbo with pump turned all the way up. Rolls coal everywhere and still getting 40 mpg.lol

While I had the trans out i took a few pics of the short throw.

I also cut down some old pins to fill the stock holes

As far as D.D Machine, maybe it's because people contact him through Pirate or only try to call him. He never answers his phone. I finally got in touch with him via eBay, to ask if he had parts in stock and how much other parts were. How much was the 1350/4 shaft?

Dude, I love that short throw! What faults have you found in your design? This looks like the better alternative than the Hurst at $230... would you make another?

Nice headers. I've got the smae ones, just not on my truck. lol Had em since last summer. The cams & springs look fun. Wish I could see it in person.

Did you have any hangups with the 16.5 gallon regular cab installment, aside from the float adjustment? I remember someone on here using a stock tank from like a Foxbody mustang or B2 between their frame rails...

You sure it's the same truck? lol

Nothing says "I love you" more than a burrito.
