Planning my Dream Ranger input from 3rd gen owners wanted

4-door is an expensive option that I think wasn't started until the 4th gens. It's nice, but I think it's a little outside the age range you are looking for Smokes.

The 4.0 OHV with a manual is VERY easy to drive, my '91 has so much torque that I don't even touch the throttle pulling out of my camp, and it is literally a 45 degree incline up a gravel driveway. My old 2.9 wasn't able to dream of pulling out of there without slipping the clutch and a little throttle.

must be one of them magic ones?

im dropping the must be a auto req.

id like a 95+ but a nice 93 or 94 wont be turned away.

ahh ok thanks bud.

now i wont have to stare at the spec sheets as much:icon_thumby:

ok guys the plan for me is to rock the colt and possibly the chebbie if i get it until the Ranger falls into play.

so far what i have figured out is this:
Auto Tranny
4X4
Ex cab

figureing on a 95 and up as that has the better tranny vs teh A4LD

being auto and 4x4 means it would have the 3.0 or the 4.0 and both are overall good engines

id like a manual T case but id take a auto.

Sounds like you need one just like mine :icon_thumby:

The second private seller or the next to last private seller are teh ones I would look at.

The second one looks really good bodywise (at least on the side that is shown) and has a good paint job on it. ONly 120k, that is pretty low mileage. Not 4x4 tho... but other than that, this one looks the best.

you will definitely love the 4.0 if you get that one :) It looks like the second to last one has a bit of damage to the front panel below the headlight, but that isn't too bad. the only downside of this one that I see is the black paint job... while when it is cleaned up it will look great, it will also show every dent, ding, scratch and speck of dirt on it...

something to think about, the 95-97 have better disc brakes than the previous years and are OBD2 compliant. that in itself is a good reason to go after the 97.

That red 95 looks beat to death and he wants 1500? offer him 700 for that beater...

Just my thoughts

thanks AJ!!!

think he would take 1,500 cash?

eh, offer him 1300. the worse he can say is No. look it up on kbb.com, and that will give you a starting point. if it has damage, that will take it down some. I would not pay any more than 1500 for a truck in that condition. but, if it has good tires, and all the maintenance has been done on it, that will give it a plus.

sent a message his way no reply yet i think after some number crunching all im going to spend at the most on any one is 1500

so i think my BB cut of one of the trucks but its no loss as it needed an new tranny.

Well guys talking with the guy that has the 97 and I can get er for 1500 its all stock and all regular matinance has been done on it. He sent more pictures and it looks real clean inside and there's no rust that's obvious to see. its got some dings on the back but nothing bad lookin

sweet! post pics when you get her.
