I just bought an '85 Bronco II and damn near everything above the passenger wheel well is ripped out - like 12 loose connectors for probably a variety of solenoids etc. Wiring looks original but Chilton/Haynes diagrams only match 2 of the connectors based on wire color (and I still can't find the parts), impossible to identify exactly what I'm missing!

It would help a ton if anyone could send some close up shots so I can at least get a visual of what's been taken out! I think it's mostly solenoids for the thermactor system and EGR stuff. I have the 2.8L, by the way. Thank you guys!

sometimes 1st hand is better than pictures... I know it will cost ya $3 or so entry fee (probably higher now), but does LKQ have any 1st gen rangers/broncos right now? (I used to go to LKQ on east colfax a ton back when I lived in Denver)....
I'd be happy to take pix the next time I go to the junkyard I hit now... but that will be a couple days minimum and I doubt they have any 2.8's at the moment.

I've got an 85 EVTM that has vomponent location views and schematics.

It's too late tonight... but i can post a couple pictures on the morning.

@RobbieD may also be a good resource with this.

Welcome to TRS.

I've got two pics here of my '84 2.8L; your '85 should be the same. Originally there's a black plastic cover over these solenoids.

There you go again, Gump; picking on poor 'lil me. :)

I was right though...

Unfortunately there's only one at a yard in Aurora, '87 but pretty much nothing left of her. Keeping my eyes out for a parts vehicle when things eventually start failing though for sure.

Got one in the mail! Set to be here in a few days.

@RobbieD this is amazing! Only thing mine has is the starter solenoid  Can't locate where the thermactor solenoids (TAD/TAB) would be, but most of the other parts I see on the vaccuum diagram I've managed to track down! Huge help

Got this 3 solenoid set based on your pic (insanely hard to find!) and have some VS77 binary vacuum solenoids I'm hoping can take the place of those two closer to the firewall if I rip off the harnesses and resplice. Now to identify what the components on the vaccuum diagram look like in real life and start hooking em up.

Here's a picture of the car too, really excited about it.

Making some progress. Installed a vapor canister, new wiper motor and headlights, replaced ignition cylinder, installed a couple missing sensors and valves, it's coming along. Lots of learning, never worked on cars. Really enjoying this though guys, thanks for helping out!
