I used the stock horizontal racks/sliders, just slid a nut in there that fit and then bolted the rack to the nut, if that makes sense
Should be easy to cut down, mine came in 4 peices, if you cut a few inches off each one...
They aren't that hard to install. Go to an atuo supply store & get what is called "nutcerts" of the thread size you need. I think the stock screws from the fatory are 6 or 8 mil. Lay out the holes per the locations on the rack itself, drill the holes the size needed for the nutcerts, apply a little silicon & push the nutcerts in place & run the screws down until the nutcerts lock in place. They will mushroom out on the inside of the metal kinda like a lagbolt. Then remove the screws, place the roof rack in position & run the screws back down. WALLA It's all done. NAPA carries the nutcerts in the section where they keep automotive fasteners. NOT in the HELP section. I bought 10 of them for like $5.00. You don't even have to remove the headliner to install them. Just be carefull to not drill any deeper then 1/2" at most & you will be fine. I installed a stock rack on my BII that didn't have one in about 45 minutes.
