Pics of my project

I'm going to weld wheel tubs over the tires to stop the road debris from getting all over everything in the bed. I might leave the center section open. And I also want to get a hinged soft tonneau cover for the bed.

i highly suggest www.mar-k.com for the handle relocator, comes with the filler plate, rods, handle, and everything. Only problem I had was the handle broke when I was messing around with it, but I just welded it back together and its fine.

so wish i could spare the money for this..... minimum wage just ain't cuttin it... but i'm only 17 i suppose.

i more so wish i had the technical skills you had... i've never been taught anything like that, but wish i was a wiz like you are.

Awsome truck man !!

Two questions for you. I have a '92 also , although mines an extended cab. Lucky for me I have access to a full shop, my brother owns a local aftermarket/audio/tint shop and we're both gear heads.

Anyway , what did your front fascia/bumper/airdam come off of ? I've been lookin at all different kinds to try , I was torn between a Stillen one or trying to find a Ranger GT one on craigslist, but yours looks sweet to !!!

How do you guys get the newer style Explorer/Ranger grill to fit ??? I've been pulling my hair out on this one and was sort of hoping you might have went into some detail or pics. My local salvage yard has a TON of mid to late 90's Rangers/Explorers in stock from the Cash for Clunkers program, so I went down there today and scored a 96 Explorer 8.8 disc brake rear , an Expedition Center Console and Overhead Console and two power bucket seats all for $200!!! They have a bunch of pristine mid to late 90's grills to pick from , but I found a loose one and was holding it up to my truck and cant for the life of me figure out how you guys make them look like factory. When I tried a test fit ( overlay ) it looks like the newer grill comes up a few inches short because of the curve towards the headlights as opposed to my squared off lights. Any help in making this work ??

Again thats a bad ass truck man , awsome work !

First off, thanks for the complements!

The front bumper cover was used on the Explorer Limiteds, 91-94. I bought it back when I worked at a Ford dealership. I've heard that they don't make it anymore. You could probably score one at a junk yard. The reason it's silver/tan is because I had it painted and on my last ranger. I didn't paint it yet because it needs the flex agent mixed into the paint. This winter I plan on painting the truck and it will be red.

The grill that I'm using is for a 91-94 Ford Explorer Sport I think? Bought it off ebay for $35. Sanded and painted it to match. It was a direct fit.

Have you started a build thread on your truck?

Small update- I scored a pair of GT40 heads from a junk yard for $116 out the door! They had 160,000 miles on them. I picked them up yesterday and dropped them off at the machine shop for some freshening up. I plan on pulling the engine once there is snow on the ground. It's getting new bearings, rings, gaskets and heads.

man i have watched this truck from the get go and WWWWOOOOOOWWWWW
:icon_hornsup: So what is your next project:shok:

It's a 91 that I picked up for $300. Pretty good shape.

But...of course...the 460 isn't going into the truck in stock form. Lol

It's getting a rebuild with some mild mods.
