Pics of my project

very nice looking truck, and i like the work done to it, sounded nice in the video also :)

hey TS, do you got a side pic of the truck with the hood on, id like to nominate you for the totm.

I actually just got the rear wheels on to match the front. I was waiting on the BFG's. It's kinda a mixed look between mini truck and pro street.

So will the state let you put some cherries and a bullbar on her and use her to run down speeders?:D:headbang:

That would be the last thing I would expect to pull me over,
A Ranger as high as a Fierro..................................... :shok:

BTW, what kind of rims are those? Do they come on 16" or 17" by 10" wide?

Haha! Actually I work for the county. Every year they have 1/8 mile street drags. I really want to take my cruiser and put some really steep gears and a quick NOS system and run it but they won't go for it.

The wheels are Centerline Telstars. I got them from Summit and they make all different sizes. Wide ones too. Go to their website and check em out. They are polished without a clear coat. I like them because even after sitting out in the weather for several years, they shine right up with a little elbow grease, a small power ball and some mothers polish.

I painted the tailgate in an $8 makeshift paint booth. It came out nice but a bug landed on it. Figures..

Man, I just can't get enough of that red!!! So thick and clean!

Is that one of those LMC truck aftermarket tailgates? Be careful when handling or stepping on them because I put a dent on the top lip of mine just by stepping up on to it.

They use a thinner gauge sheetmetal on the aftermarket ones, unless you shelled out the big bucks for a good one.

P.S. With you being a cop and all, it would've been really funny if you had HAZMAT photoshop a bullet hole where the bug landed and have a funny slogan below the picture.

" There, the painting is done..............Wha.........no.... STUPID BUG!!!! (chuck-chik) BLAM!! BLAM!! BLAM!!:icon_rofl:

hey iron ranger i guess your the post devil today as your post count is 666, haha

HA, HA!! Not anymore.

I hate that number.

Yes, that is an aftermarket and featherweight tailgate. It's more for looks than anything. Very thin gauge metal. Thanks for the complements guys!

So as the paint was drying on my tailgate, I did some browsing on craigslust. I found a factory tailgate (red), two doors, and a hood. All in decent shape and all for $50!! So today I drove across the state and picked it up. Spent about $50 in fuel so about $100 into the parts. Up in northern michigan this is a good find.

Those look to be in decent shape! I would take off the stainess cover on the tailgate just to make sure that there's no rust behind it.

You might even like it without the cover, because it should have the stamped letters "FORD" behind it. Just fill in the holes where the cover mounted on and there you go.

Or.......oooooooooooooooooooo.... big thought............................ shave the handle and get a kit that relocates the handle to the inside of the tailgate.

Sweet

Yup, thats what I was thinking. I want to remove the stainless cover becasue I like the embossed FORD. I also want to relocate the handle to the inside and fill the hole on the outside. So when I do that I'll fill any holes and repair any rust that it may have.

Looks nice are you going to get some kind of bed cover for the bed or are ya going to paint it and leave it open?
