I went today, back to the junk yard. I almost expected the BII to be gone, but low and behold, it was still there. However, the pickers had gotten to it more. It really isn't a vehicle in my eyes, to restore. It has some bad rust areas. And this info is coming from a man who does rust repair on vintage Mustangs. Sure I have repaired much worse on a Mustang . . but I don't believe this vehicle is worth it. And the shocking part was that someone had gotten to the fiberglass pieces already. They were all drilled out, each and every hole. I didn't count but there is a lot. Someone took the time to do all that . . . . . My jaw dropped when I saw that . . . more to come . . .
Thats very sad news. I don't know if anyone actually has a value on one of these trucks. Being that it is such a obscure custom. It would have been sweet to save what you could and adapt it to another BII perhaps with a better body but none the less its a sad day
true story . . but my jaw dropped again when I found the fiberglass pieces laying on the ground behind the vehicle. Someone removed the pieces . and then left them laying on the ground???? huh ??? Good for me. I picked them up and walked to the front and paid for them. I left the tailgate because it was just too damaged, but I know exactly how it was made and how it hinged; easy to do. Here it is . . . .
Now what am I going to do with it?????????????????????????????????? But at least I got it
Oh man you saved the good parts at least, Those are the parts that can't be found. You should take some detailed pics of fiberglass parts and maybe someone on here thats good with glass could re-make it for there chop top! Thanks for saving pieces of history
