permanently deleting codes?

I have a 98 3.0L with a few codes I want to permanently delete.

P0135 -O2 sensor heater circut malfuction bank 1 sensor 1

P0453 - EVAP pressure sensor high

P1451 - EVAP vent control valve circuit fault

This is on my trail rig so I dont have to pass smog or anything I just dont want to be losing any power as a result of these codes. I have deleted my cats so that could be the o2 sensor problem. I have also pulled the evap canister off and the valve and i plugged the vacum line.

As far as I know, there is no way to take codes out of the system permanently. Put a picture over the CEL or a piece of electrical tape. One time my uncle put a picture of his family over his to get it through emissions testing. They passed it no problem.
 
I dont care that the CEL is on and I dont have to pass emissions.

I just dont want to be losing power as a result of these codes.
 
Sorry, the PCM will continue to set those codes until you replace the missing components.

The bank 1 sensor 1 is the right hand upstream HEGO sensor (replace the 02)

As for the emissions stuff..... well i threw it all away. Anyone know of a way to bypass it? maybe loop the wires together?
 
The emissions stuff should not cause any problems, other than an annoying light (as long as you haven't caused any vacuum leaks.

hmmm. what year was his vehicle? Part of NYS inspection is to look at the check engine light. and our inspection machines actually read for emissions codes.

It was an '88. Here in MD, Only OBD II stuff gets hooked up to the computer. Other stuff just gets run on the treadmill and checked to see if the light was on. It passed the treadmill test, and no one looked for the light apparently.
 
take the bulb out but it is my understanding that getting the emissions working will in general make it run more efficient. Hit the bone yard for the parts you need to get the computer to shup up.

oh. yea vehicles before 1995 don't go through OBDII here either.
 
huh. my picture was working the other day.... oh well.

So the general concensus is that the emissions junk will only throw codes and the CEL. Wont cause any noticeable loss in power, only efficiency. I can live with that.

Sorry but im not going to the junk yard to buy the emissions stuff. I just see no point in it.


Also the o2 code was simply the sensor wasn't plugged in. I just rebuilt my whole exhaust and must have forgot to plug it in.
