This conversion will include a new, used engine. In fact, the engine and trans assembly will all come out of the same truck. It's a '92 2.3, and my truck is a '92 2.3.

Parts known to be needed:

Engine
transmission/shifter
flywheel
clutch
driveshaft
slave/master cylinder
Hydraulic line between cylinders
clutch pedals

Are the following parts also necessary??

Transmission mount/cross member, or will the old one fit?
speedometer cable
plugs for trans cooling line, or new radiator

thanks ! Your input is greatly appreciated!

I have been told that you'll need the cross member. Not sure on the other parts.

Does anyone know if the starter motor from the automatic Ranger will fit when converted to 5-speed?

Also, how difficult is it to change the clutch/brake pedals?

thanks guys!

In my experience, you do not need the crossmember. But when in doubt, grab everything you can from the donor.

The pedal swap is a pain, but doable in an evening. Drop the ebrake pedal assembly and the main wiring harness, then you'll have JUST enough room to wiggle them in. This is the most aggravating part of the entire swap.

You'll need a manual starter. Good luck with the swap, it's absolutely worth the effort.
