Hey all! I have what appears to be an uncommon question. I've been doing some front end work on my Ranger, and one of the things I plan to replace is the torsion bars as they are maxed out as far as adjustment and the front is still sagging with no weight. I already bought a new set (with a higher spring code) and it is currently on its way to my house. One thing I like to do because I think it looks awesome is whenever I repair or replace underbody components I spray them with Rustoleum. This has been holding up really well on skid plates, control arms and to a lesser extent the rear axle, but I was thinking it would look great on the torsions too. Only thing is I'm not entirely sure how well Rustoleum will hold up on something that is going to be constantly flexing. I'm afraid of painting the new T-bars and after only a few months having them look like crap because the paint is flaking off and such. So I thought I would ask: Has anyone painted their T-bars and if so with what and how did it hold up? Some googling brought up results involving people restoring classic cars, but they paint them with some sort of specialty rust-preventitive paint (which I didn't look into as I'm set on my current color).
