Painting Corner Lights

i was thinking about painting my corner lights black to match my truck, (the one in my picture) because as far as i can tell they serve absolutely no purpose, is there any reason im overlooking that i shouldnt? are there any legal issues with painting pointless lights? (such as cops or state inspection place giving me shit) any sugestions/tips? pictures are always wonderful. lol

nope, my turn signal is the amber light under the headlight, the corner dosent turn on for signals, 4 way flashers, nothing, from all i can tell it does nothing at all, would there be any point to nightshading it if it dosent do anything? like could i just spray it black? i have bunches of black spray cans, i'd have to spend money for nightshade lol

nightshade would look better we use it on my kids truck and it looks good

Some states will fail you on inspections for any non working light or reflector. You should check with the nearest inspection place to know for sure.
The "light' should be lit if it is not a reflector. Check the bulb if it has one.

As far as I was aware the 4th gen light your talking about is the corner light so people can tell where the corner of your truck is. I did noth my corner and turnsignal lights with the VLT Niteshade (a little too dark with 2 coats) but I think they look pretty decent.

ive never seen any ranger (4th gen) that the,corner lights were lit up, but if im not mistaken explorers cornr lights were part of thier turn signal, and it passed inspection, and they didnt light up then, so i figure i dont really need them.

Do the blinker mod. That bulb should be lit up with the turn signals I believe when the headlight switch is in the park lights position.

On the 5th gen trucks the corner lights were replaced with a reflector and did not light up but every 4th gen with the large turn signals should have lights in every section.

i'll check if it has a bulb when i have a little free time, but if i have turn signals (amber lights) couldnt i just black them out anyway?

definately looks good, i'll definately do that when i go to change my bulbs, i guess both left and right bulbs are shot.

but shouldnt it allready be lit without the blinker mod? i still dont see why i need the corner light since i have the amber lights underneath my headlights.
