Was checking out the old carsdomain.com to see what sweet mods i could make sweeter in my truck seen a 5.0l swap. pretty cool idea. any body got any idea on what a good year explorer for the 03 ranger and any insight on where one might be let me know got the money just need pointed in right direction.

find one on craigslist or j-yard. mountainer or emplorer frm the yrs 96-02 i thk are the best donors for a 5.0 swap for you truck. o ya USE THE SEARCH FEATURE lots of v-8 swaps have been done and some good info. and welcome to the site.

I got 5.0L, and 03 Ranger.

From that I will tell the OP this:

That is not going to be legal in PA. You can't put an older engine in a newer vehicle and the last year for the 5.0 was 01. So no matter what county you live in, not legal.

well i stand corrected on the year of the 5.0 being last run of 01. ya it does take a little bit of desifering but in the case of not being able to put a older engine in a vehicle in PA. then only choose he has is a 4.6 if he wants to keep it a ford.

well that sucks i'll find some kind of loop hole whats new yorks laws on older engine in newer trucks
