My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I’m considering going to the Overland Expo in Stark, FL at the beginning of March. Anyone else considering it?

I haven’t been to an Expo yet. All the others are a much longer drive.I need to consider some equipment for later this year and it might be good to actually see what’s out there before ordering arbitrary stuff. Anyway. I should make a firm decision and reservation in the next few days. It would be fun to meet up with others there.

camping is $100 for the weekend and includes admission and some raffle tickets.

Whew...

That's a 20 plus hour drive for me. While it sounds like fun... probably not in the cards for me.

Missouri is much closer for you

Last time I traveled from the SE US to the NW US was 13 years ago, it wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped. Need some thing closer to home.

If you got someone else to drive for you it would probably not take as long...

I don’t think it’s worth the 950 mile (each way) drive to me.

I would love to attend one sometime. I don't think this year is going to be the year. The drive is long but not horrible for where I live. I've always wanted to go to one and look at all the neat stuff I can't afford but would give me ideas.

Looks like it's in my area. Only about 2.5 hours away from me. maybe with some planning, I can make it.

will they have one of those pebbles there?

if i could afford one of those things i would buy it.... be kewlz to see one in person.

Are going to drive straight down? I've been wanting to hit part of the FAT. I might be down. Especially if we hit some trails on the way. My friend fro Geogia Expeditions hosts an Adventure Vehicle Roundup 2 times a year in North Georgia area. I'm gonna go to the Spring 1 for sure. It's a little smaller with free classes and such. Also get some raffle tickets with admission. Not tension its at a distillery this year haha. Bit I'm thinking of taking a few days before and taking the Traverse across to the event. It about middle of it close to Big Frog. So I'm still trying g to decide if I wanna go to the SC side to start or the Alabama side.

I'm just looking at a straight down and back trip right now. No extra vacation on this one.

Would you be interested in the geogia trip?
I'll keep it in mind. I'm just now coming out of a winter funk from having the flu and maybe even some depression over the past few weeks. Im trying to get caught up with the world and figure out what to do this year.

Well your always welcome on my trips big or small. Plus I have an ear to listen if you just need a buddy to talk to. I'm gonna try and do some more trips this year overlanding. Only way I'm gonna know what I need for sure is to get out there and find out haha
