On my way to Wal-Mart tonight, I came up on a big Dodge Ram truck that looked like it had no tail lights, and I thought to myself "what a dumba**, running with no headlight on" when we came to the intersection where Wal-Mart was a Tennessee State Trooper blue lighted me to get in front of me and in back of the Dodge, well the Dodge "had" headlight on, he also "had" that night vision on his tail lights, and they where so dark you couldn't see the light, and couldn't see the brake light come on, SO I go in to the store, on my way out the State Trooper was in his car, and the guy was scrapping his tail lights to remove the night vision stuff, AND it was pouring down rain.

Goes to show you, some "upgrades" don't work too well.:icon_confused:

but it was funny to see this person in the pouring rain with a metal scrapper going to town on his lights in the rain.:icon_rofl:

I must be either sick or mean, or it's just my drugs causing this.:icon_thumby:

Awesome. I don't understand the smoked or blacked out looks to those types of things.

Finally someone gets pulled over for that crap!

i usually smoke mine, but if u do it properly and dont go overboard u notice no difference in the brightness, and i live in the great communist state of nj, the land of the stupid ticket

I have mine tinted as well and like stated above done properly you notice almost no difference in brightness. And on a dark truck it looks so much better

I hate that dark smoke stuff over the tail lights. So many people put it on dark that even in daylight, it is hard to tell if they braking. Plus, I don't think that smoke film is DOT approved.

on my ranger and my f-150, you cant see the brake lights or turn signals unless theyre actually on. never had a problem. got pulled over for speeding and the cop didnt say anything about my lights or tinted windows (20%)
and when i say you cant see them unless theyre on, i mean it (blend perfectly with a black truck haha). theyre completely blacked out lol.

ive had a friend drive behind me before, and this was when i first tinted them, i called him and asked him how my lights looked, i turned on both turn signals, tapped the brakes and he said they lit right up and were still very noticeable. and they were fine just as running lights too. but i have seen people driving around and i couldnt see their taillights even when it was pitch black out. crazy.

i tinted my tailights and it looks sweet with the black/red but you can also make em out perfectly fine. that is also 2 coats maybe.... on there. otherwise i remeber in vegas people would empty entire cans on their tails....and for that matter headlights, of course they also thought 27in of lift with 35in tires was a good idea haha

haha i knew i guy that put it on so thick that it left cracks all the way across the lights and that was only way you could see the lights

Haaaaaaa. Smart cop. Glad he was paying attention to that!!! I hate that look as well. We have a lot of roads that have no lighting and I hate to come up on an idiot with that crap on their headlights and their tail lights. So really stupid of these idiots!!! It is worse when we get that really dense fog and you will see idiots who don't turn on their lights when driving in the thick fog!!!!!
For what it is worth I believe all tinting on lights should be illegal. I think it is really stupid to have it done. It could case an accident and I have sad this time after time...if anyone cause me to have an accident because they are using the tinting on their lights or texting as they drive and cause me to crash I will sue the phone company and I will sue the idiots who make that stupid tint for head and tail lights!!!!!

I leave extra following distance just for those idiots. Smoked covers need to be outlawed for taillights. Bring back Blue dots. Those are cool. I also hate the Euro taillights. They are hard to identify if the moron is stopping.
