Hey everyone. I'm new here but I have had a few Rangers over the years. My latest is a 99 XLT 4X4. I've allready taken some things from this site. I've relaced a wheel hub bearing (gone bad) and installed the manual hubs from Rugged Ridge (not just on a whim, the pvh's were busted too). So far so good.
My embaressing question is this- on my manual shifter console, I have a rocker switch that has 2 arrows on it. What the heck is it suppose to do? I can't find anything in the manual. It must be someting easy right? Thanks guys, GREAT site!

Hmm....sounds custom to me.

No guys he's got one of thoes limited edition Rangers FX5 with the 10 degree rear steer option. I thought it was only available in Madascar, Malysia.... and Wonderland.

It's probably just a rocker switch a previous owner installed. Follow the wires and see where they go. Maybe it had aux lights at one point.

Im hoping I can go back in time or into the future.

Switches for dual tanks? I can't think of else somewould would add a momentary rocker like that. Where do those yellow wires go?

Edit: are there airbags in the rear? Could be to adjust the suspension?

Oh, that is for when you pick up a babe and she wants to eh,eh, dity in the front seat on your lap...you push the buttons back and forth and...man!!! She tells all the girls she knows that you are the ONE!!!!! lol

Its most likely for a light system, fog lights or sumthing that might have been dismounted, do you have any holes anywhere?Otherwise, Not really sure, how many positions is it? On/off or three positions? on /middle/off

Hey man thats for the two speed splitter rear end!!

(in my dreams!!)

Looks like a plain ole switch that the P.O. installed...

Could have had a custom rear sliding glass in the truck.
im with you on that one!

This is probably a stupid question: have you tried pressing the switch to see what happens?

Like Will said, I think it goes to the yellow wires, those don't look factory either.

Well, I followed the wires when I got home last night. They seem to go into the tailgate. I'm thinking maybe a lock? There used to be a cap on the truck, I'm thinking it was a way to lock up the back.

And no, when I push it nothing happens. Thanks though, up yesterday I thought it was stock.
