Totally understand that - I am going to rebuild my AOD myself to save $$$.

An auto trans to me equals looking at a human brain. I think I could do brain surgery rather then auto trans surgery.

LOL - I have the build posted in three locations and I have to remember to update them all at the same time.

I checked out yours - not many pics, but I scanned through most of it and I like the upgrade.

UPDATE:

I finally tested and laid out the location for the dipstick, cut the pan, fabricated a mounting blister on the pan, welded on the bung and attached the dipstick. No during pics, but here it is after!

And this is how you work in a metal shop during 108 degree temps - 1390 Cubic Feet per Minute!

Guess what . . . . MORE PROGRESS!

Well I got the oil pan finished tonight. I added a thinned down mix of JB Weld and Acetone and poured it over the area where I welded in the patch and dipstick bung, I did this last night. Tonight I ground it smooth with the angle grinder, sanded it and then filled the pan with water and left it sit about 1.5 Hours - no leaks. So I then sanded it with a finer grit paper, wiped down the pan with Acetone and shot it with etching primer - let dry, and then shot it with the VHT Ford Blue - awesome.

I also cleaned up the thermostat housing, primed it, and painted blue.
