odb test does not work on my truck

Grab a multimeter and check the ignition switch circuit?

To jump in late and throw my $.02 in, the guys are trying to throw suggestions at you but you're either not understanding them or blatantly ignoring them.

If the plugs aren't wet then you aren't getting fuel. If the fuel pump works and you're getting pressure, then the injectors may have failed.

Have you tried a compression test?

What was the truck doing before it went FUBAR?

the spark plugs smell like fuel and it looks really difficult to take off the fuel injectors because it under the fuel rail and other things. and i have not tried a compression test because i dont have tool to test and before my friend was trying to fix it and did not know what was wrong with it.

im going to try and put fuel injector cleaner and instead putting 87 gas, i'm going to put 89 gas but only like 2 gallons, is that ok for my truck?

If the plugs are wet try and light them with a lighter. If they dont burn you probably slugged the system with water. If so you need to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail and cycle the pump until you get good fuel. Pull the fuel rails and pour the water out. Put it back together and cycle the key a few times to prime the system then see if it starts. This is assuming you are getting spark to check for spark put a spark plug in the coil wire and set it on a good engine ground and have someone try and start it while watching the plug. Where do you live maybe someone here can help you that lives close it should only take a hour or two to get it running with a part store close by. It dont matter what grade of fuel you use it should run just fine.

well i cant take off the fuel rail but i took off the nozzle the u check for fuel pressure and sucked the fuel out and checking for slugged there was none, going to buy a voltmeter to check for ground, if everything is grounded right

finally got a guy to fix my truck. he said the starter was bad so bought a new one and my wiring was bad so put my engine on 0" top dead center and wired the distributor, set the timing and now it starts up strong but now when i turn the key on run it rev's and when i turn the key to the on position it dies? so what do u think?
