I have a 2008 ford Ranger 3.0L V6 sport
Have been looking at getting a Ultra Gauge and was just making sure that the truck meets the ODB II compliant requirments.
When I look under the hood for that sticker I see one that says something like
ODB: F II

and there is one on the driver side door that had
Compliant: XXX-XXX (sorry can't remember the letters)

I googled the ODB: F II and no dice so does anyone have any ideas?

if this is any issue I can try to take a pic of the lables tonight and post them.

I don't know what the requirements are, but your truck is a fully OBDII capable and compatible. Some things the ScanGauge and UltraGauge do aren't available on the Ranger because it just doesn't have sensors for them, like oil temp.

I kind of figured that it was OBD II But I just could find anything online that stated what the OBD: F II means (am I even looking at the right lable) .... So there is nothing for oil temp, what else does the Ranger not have? There would have to be something for oil pressure I would think.

I'm running an original Scan Gauge in my '01 Edge and I think I get oil temp. I'll have to double check that. Oil pressure may be the one I don't get. Hmmm.

I believe every vehicle in the US manufactured after either 94 or 96 have OBD II. Within OBD II there are some different standards because of different manufacturers but if the only requirement is OBD II they must be able to interpret it or the manufacturer of that equipment should say it doesn't read vehicles by the particular manufacturer.

As Adsm said, if the vehicle doesn't have the sensor the OBD system can't report that info.

Every vehicle after 96 is obd2, dont worry about the F it doesn't mean anything important, all the F means if I remember right is the computer data protocol
