I want to revive the 4wd on my 94 The shift motor is missing. Can I covert to a stick. TIA

Yes. By getting a manual shift transfer case. The case internals are different.

Look at the link I posted...you can shift it from INSIDE the truck...its a bit pricey though...around $300

IMO the shifter sucks because...."you have to crawl under the truck"

So it's ok to get out and lock in manual HUBS before you hit a mudhole, but you wait until you're ALREADY stuck in the mud to shift into 4WD and complain about crawling under? IT'S ON THE WAY TO THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK!!!!!!!:icon_rofl::icon_rofl: Just lock everything in BEFORE you hit the rough spots, or, as the forum discussing it says, carry it as a "just in case" for if your motor fails on the trail. It doesn't seem to be intended for a fulltime permanent solution.

Just get another junkyard motor. The tech library shows how to take one apart and clean it good as new....

Walking thru mud isn't the same as crawling thru it. Besides that you can run it from inside the cab.

No need to have as a spare, you can manually turn the shaft that the motor usually turns. Just remove the motor and turn the shaft.

i like that shifter cable thing in the link.. to bad i'm not paying $300 for it..
