Hey everyone,

So, new here, and will probably be asking a lot of basic questions. I hope you'll be patient with me, as they are sincere, and in service of my kiddo.

He is 15 1/2, starts driving school next month, and is likely to grow to be a mechanic or something with his hands.

I, on the other hand, got MY Dad's lack of handiness. It's all been hard to come by as an adult.

We bought a 1999 Mazda B3000 - which I will refer to here mainly as a 1999 Ford Ranger. 3.0 V6. 222k miles on it. 2WD/RWD.

It's an old truck. Runs! But, I know we will need to do work. We already need to.

And that's me. Glad TRS exists!

Good on you for supporting your son's passions. Rangers make great first vehicles. They're reliable, they aren't fast enough to get into too much trouble, and there's lots of things you can do to them to have fun. Most of us here are supportive and helpful. Welcome aboard! Oh and when you get a chance, post some pictures of the truck!

Best way to learn is to dive in.

Besides....if you know lefty loosey righty tighty you can basically figure most stuff out from there. Besides electrical :)

Welcome!

Welcome!

You found the right place; have questions, just ask away.
