I have a 98 ranger 2.5 4 cyl w/ ac. I want to eliminate AC, never use it. Does anyone know if you can put non AC belt on bypassing compresser. I did a search & didn't find anything. Thanks

If you remove the compressor you 100% can. Even if you don't remove the compressor you probably can, but then it is pretty pointless to buy a belt. You could get the same result for free by just unplugging the compressor. When the compressor isn't engaged the pulley just freewheels, and gives pretty much no resistance. Then you can wait until you actually need a belt to replace the belt.

Thank. I already unplugged compressor. Was thinking ahead to belt replacment in future. Figured belt would fit, unless something was in different place on non AC. Thanks again

Sometimes the PS pump gets moved around, but it usually doesn't affect overall belt length.

still have the decal by the radiator showing belt routing? it should show both.
