no rev limiter in drive?

My tach goes to 7 but none of the numbers are red lol. So technically I have no redline!

Then again my speedo goes to 120 and it wont go near that lol. Speed limiter is 95. The fiesta cuts out at 105-110.

If you were doing anywhere around 95mph+ that was the speed limiter cutting in. It will intermittently cut power to the injectors until you slow the hell down...
When I have hit the rev limiter it was in either 1st or 2nd gear. I am pretty confident 95 mph is not possible even in 2nd gear in my Ranger.

I have hit the speed limiter in my Ranger though and it was between 80 and 85 mph even though my custom tunes have the speed limiter raised. It happened when I had the stock program running for smog check. I run 4.56 gears for my 33" off-road tires and when I am running my 31" street tires the rpm is higher at any speed. I have a speedometer recalibrator, so I know what speed I am going but the computer does not get the recalibrated signal. So, when I am actually going somewhere between 80 and 85 mpg with the 31" tires, the computer thinks I am going near 95 mph and shuts the injectors down resulting in a loss of power. So, as you might imagine, I am very anxious to get my stock program reinstalled after smog check so I can go over 80 without fear of hitting the speed limiter.

My LTD II would do 90 in 2nd....

Sorry off topic. Carry on

You can hold the throttle on the rev limiter for a while, that's what the rev limiter does, it limits the engine so you don't ef it up. When I had my truck and it was pissing me off after constantly breaking something, whenever I would get it running again I would just hold it at the rev limiter to see if I could blow the damn thing up and it would just keep bouncing off the limiter. Unless it's a 2-stroke engine then you're not gonna hurt the engine hitting the rev limiter.

I had an 89 buick century that shifted at 40mph in first, and 85 in second. The speedometer was only registered to 85 and it was buried well behind the dash after 3rd and 4th gear. lol. Gotta love them old horizontal speedometers lol.

My Holley carbureted Mustang and Ranger both have 2 rev limiters- my right foot, and if that doesn't work- my valve springs.
The Mustang will start and drive away if I turn the key without pressing the clutch and I can shift my Ranger out of park without stepping on the brake.
I hate "driver assist" features like automatic braking and rev limiters that just enable people who don't pay attention and cost the rest of us extra when we buy cars.

my 4.0l cuts fuel at 6500rpm and bangs in to the next gear, 3k limiter in park to protect the engine from overreving.

put i love engine breaking and the noise it makes when you let off.
