How we doin’? I live in the great state of Maine and although this state is magical in a ton of ways; it still eats vehicles. The DOT drops enough salt to rust out the best of them. Luckily my ‘86 Ranger 2.9L manual transmission came from Arizona, where apparently vehicles live forever, and has been up here for the past four years. The last owner took the best care of it he could; which is all you can ask. The engine, which runs on gasoline, has 375000 miles on it and still runs like a champ. It has its ticks. After I start her she will start to chock out for a moment and then rev back or stall out. Mostly rev back. Once in a blue moon it happens when I’m going down the road in gear. The truck is in great shape and the frame is just starting to get surface rust. Body is mint. Got it for a steal. Very grateful. Anyways... My plan is to do an engine swap with something a little bigger and hope to glean some info here on that. Also just looking for some general ranger wisdom. Glad to join the community.

Welcome! I live in Cumberland county, so I know exactly what your talking about. I'd be willing to bet were definitely in the top 3 states that eats cars fastest.
