been a member for a bit but havent introduced myself yet. im still pretty young and got my first vehicle a couple years back and it was a 92 ranger. always been into cars but that was the first thing i could get my hands on. that being i didnt have it but about 4 months before it got towed to the scrap yard. it was a real pretty blue reg cab stx 2.9 with 4.10s. it started with the rear end goin out. first time doing that kind of a project it sat a couple weeks without a rear end under it before i drove 3 hours to a junkyard because it was the closest one that had a 7.5 4.10 rear end. got there and it was filed wrong so they said theyd give me the one with 3.73s along with the front end for the same price. i ended up saying deal. didnt end up having the front end so they gave me the rear end free. seems my half ass luck ran out halfway on the way home when my buddies wheel passed us in the fast lane on the way back. but anyway slapped the rear end in the truck the next day and that night the i saw a cloud of smoke in the mirror and it was the transmisssion. sat in the garage for about 2 weeks after i had done a half ass flat black paintjob i said screw it and poured stopleak in it. (im gonna speed this up a bit) eventually the suspension shot craps along with the transmission, and the rear end again. in the middle of that expierience i bought my buddies 91 3.0 2wd ranger for 300 to fix it and sell it and use the money to fix the love of my life........ ended up screwing it up and scraping it. rite before i scraped the 4x4 i had pulled the motor....now finishing up rebuilding it to put in my dream ranger (88 ranger 5 speed extended cab 4x4) had a bad 2.9 in it when i bought it for 600. but the truck is clean no rust not even over the rear wheel wells. so i consider it a lucky buy. already have the motor out and im about to put the new one in. never the less this forum has helped me out ALOT and its all thanks to the creator and all the other members. best ranger forum on the web.
