new homebrew bumper

....just my two cents.....they make clevis condoms, peterson's 4 wheeler did a write up on them a few months ago. not sure where to get them but i know they exist...i want to say summit racing has them but not sure.:c-n:
what is a clevis condom

hell i don't care if the clank,if they make too much noise for other people :tease: ,sides if they're too blind to see me then hopefully they ain't too deaf to hear me. it'd be a bad hair day for them :idiot:

got a couple more pics, nothin to sexy :D ,just some pics of the hinged end cap on my bumper with a lock even :D now i have a place to keep my chains and tow gear :icon_hornsup: . need bigger bolts to hold my bumper on though because i knocked out the original inserts that the original bolts threaded in and am currently using 9/16 grade8, am thinking about 5/8 bolts. did a stress test by ramming a tree at 10 miles an hour and even after cranking the bolts down with a half inch impact it still shifted the bumper cause my bumper bolts ain't big enough to sit snug in the frame holes  , but that ok i'll just re-drill the holes bigger and get the right size bolts :icon_hornsup: , then maybe they won't break :icon_hornsup: anyway here's the pics

:icon_welder: gotta love 'em, they make for a nice pair of second hands. might try a 15mph tree hit after i get the bumper to stop moving[ in reverse ]
I used 5/8-18 grade 8 bolts on my bumper. Basically tack welded it on to the frame and then drilled the holes through.

a stable walking platform for performing underhood maintenance.
them old full size trucks aren't you supposed to get IN the engine comartment to work on it? i used to sit next to my pops old 390 when it needed love. don't worry about will,he showers everyone with praise and golden warmth,LOL.

my shackles don't rattle around because the hole drilled in the tab isen't big enough to let it go all over.my uncles heep makes a racket because they jump all over

it ain't sitting in the compartment that i have a problem with, it's the getting out on the blind that hurts :black_eye: especially when you're 5ft in the air and you do a backwards dismount and your leg hangs up on the way out :shok:

so what your saying you really need is foam padding glued to the front of your truck and a gym mat to drive on? your new bumper looks like it would give you one hell of a bump on the head. J/K

yeah, can't have guys named clevis havin kids ;missingteeth; . and to jack my own thread, how the hell do you multi-quote someone/several people in your posts. i'm not too computer brilliant, so type slowly. and no Rick, i don't need a foam pad or mat to drive on ;missingteeth; but that is funny, and yeah i made it to hurt. oh and thanks for compliment Jimmeh
Keeps guys named Clevis from having babies.

Looks good on the truck, man.

yeah, when it was suggested to me i thought so too. went to the hardware store and bought the hinge, flat tab on one side, triangle tabon other side. weld the flat tab side inside of the bumper and the plate to the triangle. when you set the plate, bring the triangle tab so that it sits straight out from bumper and using your ground clamp :icon_idea: clamp the plate to the hinge tab and weld away. thought about paint but i have a bad habbit of wrapping chains around bumper to pull stuff, maybe when i put d-rings on i can break myself of that habbit. then i can figure out a color scheme  and someone PLEASE tell me how to multi-quote several people at once in the same post. i see it done but have no friggin clue how and now i feel less than brilliant, oh and it suck balls
