new guy project

keep up the work and the pics! love this truck already! lol

ok, so i finally got my drop brackets and coils, and started the install of the front end. i also extended the radius arms, and made the drop brackets for them, i think they turned out pretty good, little longer than i was originally going to go but it was way easier to mount farther back.

now can someone help me here, what holds the coil from dropping right out of the bucket up top?? the stock coils held in but now the skyjacker ones are thicker an dont fit in the same and just fall out. i think i might make some sort of u-bolt to bolt them up

well, i got the truck going. i was pressured to get it done for today, because everyone was heading out wheeling for the weekend. i ended up having to extend the radius arms a bit more because i didnt mount the mounts far enuf forward so the axle was back to far. not to big of deal, just a pain and time consuming. so then i went an bought some new hubs, threw them on, put some old shocks on, bolted in some explorer rear leafs that i went an picked up, and then bolted the box back on and i was good to go. o and i welded i nice cross member in the front and welded on my nice big hook i dug out of the shop. haha

so here is how she sits

those are the only pics i got when i was out wheelin. it will be goin int he shop again, because i busted the front drive shaft, or it night be the sleeve in the transfer case, havent quite checked it out. and i also bent one of my radius arms, kinda thought i would, but didnt think i would that fast. ill get more pics up soon. definetly felt good to get out wheeling tho

things i definetly gotta do now is bob the bed 14", throw some 2" spacers in the front, and then level the back up, build beefy radius arms, and obviously fix the front d shaft now. once i get that done ill start on some nice extras like some rock sliders, get the front bumper mounted and some other odds an ends

Nice, looking good. I was gonna say those radius arms could maybe use some reinforcement as long as they are...

Glad those leafs are working out for ya.

yea it was stave. not to many people there but we had a good time. sucks my truck broke tho. got some carnage pics here

t case sleeve busted out

i bent a radius arm so i beefed them up. should be a little stronger

had to work outside, my brother stole the shop when i went wheeling.

i wasnt happy about the hight, so i put 2" spacers in the front and then pulled the bump stop blocks out of the rear an replaces with 4" blocks i had layin around. just need u- bolts now. i like the hight wayyy better now.
P3160044.jpg
[/IMG]

made some hooks to hold the top of the coils in

heres how she sits now.

looking good:icon_thumby: i like the height it is at now with the tires, did you trim the front fender? that sucks you broke yo shizzhit but those new radius arms look like they will hold up better:headbang:

ok so i got some more work done. went and got some u-bolts an bolted up the rear end, then had to go flex out on the gravel pile, does really good, im happy with how much flex im getting. sorry i didnt get any pics of that. an then yesterday i stole the shop back and got my truck in there. first thing i did was bob the bed 14". no more getting hung up on the ass end :yahoo: i also cut the
bottom of the box right behind the wheel well. fabbed up a bit of a bumper. i still got to figure out what i want for the rear bumper, something like i got there i guess

so then once i bobbed the box i came into a bit of a problem, the tailgate doesnt fit. so i could cut a big notch out of the bottom of it (it hits the frame and shackle mounts) or figure something else out. so i did some searching around trs and found some tire carrier tailgates, and so the fab began:icon_welder:

heres the result

swung open

tire mounted

still got to make some proper pins for the hinges, but thats not to bad for 4 hours work
so now i gotta finish welding up the box and get the front and rear bumpers figured out and mounted. this thing is finally taking shape, cant wait to get out an break it again :headbang:

sick build... exactly what i want cept i want the ex cab.... keep up the good fab work
