Luckily one of my best friends is a contractor so it will be a joint effort (meaning he'll be doing most of the work).

Does that include heat?He will need some up there.

You ain't just whistling dixie! It will have a heated floor. That will be especially nice after we get married. I'll have a nice warm place to sleep when she kicks me out of the house.

Heated Floor... Which type?

Circulated anti-freeze with a small water heater and integrated in concrete tubing.
Much warmer laying on heated concrete than with a gas heater and cold floor.
