I have a 96 4.0 2wd. Just replaced the clutch - slave cylinder - master cylinder. Bench bled master and gravity bled slave per pefection clutch youtube video. Got a "rough" disengagment.Pulling out in 1st or reverse and the truck sort of chatters when pulling out. Shifting really isnt a problem. Down shifting into 2nd from 3rd it grinds. I bled the slave again by having my brother pump the pedal and hold down - 1st time i opened the slave a pocket of air came out. Made the chatter a little better but its still rough pulling out. I am wondering if there was air in the slave after the gravity bleed? Is this possible? Could air have gotten back up into the master? Any help is greatly appricated!!:headbang:

you mean...engagement.

Try removing the master from the firewall, tilt it, and rebleed it. You can search for the procedure in depth on here by using the search function.
