Hey all, new guy here from Niagara Canada. I've got a 2007 Ranger, pretty much stock and probably going to stay that way. It's my daily driver until I can swing something bigger that I can haul cars with. It's in good shape except for the rocker panels, which why I ended up here. I've also got a 1931 Model A with a flathead, and a chopped '51 Ford tudor sedan (WIP, almost done after about 12 years ).

I ordered some replacement rocker panels from LMC and they look like "one size fits all" that are going to need some heavy modifications before being usable. I'm here to see what others have done and see if there are any better panels out there. I've got some experience doing bodywork, but I'd rather be working on hot rods. LMC assures me these are the right panels for my truck, but I'd like to see how someone actually used them.

I'll be noodling around the forum and using the search function, but if anyone has any advice or can help cut to the chase I'd appreciate the guidance.

Welcome aboard, there's a lot of good info here and someone who has already done whatever you're trying to do. What you're describing is typical of aftermarket body parts and a lot of the reproduction stuff out there. After decades at a dealer, I thought "reproduction" meant a new part made by someone other than Ford. I now realize it means that Ford didn't make it and you can probably modify it to work.

Interesting timing. I just heard back from LMC today, after a couple of weeks of going back and forth with me telling them they sent the wrong parts and them telling me I had the right parts... "at this time LMC does not offer the rocker panels for 99-11 ranger super cabs w/ 4 doors".

I guess I'll be modifying what they sent and seeing if I can make them work. I probably won't get into it for awhile but when I do I'll document the progress and if it's worthwhile I'll post it on the bodywork forum.
