New body mounts and the hockey puck lift kit.

Hockey pucks can work fine for a 1" lift. Just check them every once in awhile for signs of deterioration.

Most of the people who say they are extremely dangerous are the ones that stacked 3 of 4 pucks to get a cheap 3-4" body lift. If you don't stack pucks, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

I ended up just doing a true 2" BL on my choptop. I bought new bushings and the BL from James Duff. I needed new bushings and bolts on the truck, and it was cheapest to go that route cuz Duff had 'em both on sale when I bought 'em.

ok, i've got a 4 year old hockey puck lift on my trail rig. no problems and no complaints! no cracking, no falling apart, no issues at all. actually holding up better than the body bushings that were put in at the same time. :thefinger:

as for wood, when mounting our new water tank and pump body onto our fire truck chassis, we did put 2x6's on the frame before setting the tank body down. bolted it all down nice and tight and called it a day. that was 6 years ago. rig still goes to fires and no problems at all. :icon_thumby:
just my $.02.

alot of box trucks have 2x4 or 2x6 in between the box and the frame. and they hold up fine

hockey pucks and universal 1" lift blocks from performance accessories are very similar in price............

i'm going to get one or the other for a 1" BL as soon as my 3" kit sells

ive used pucks i only did an inch an for the past 3 years they held up good so far in the ny salt.

i can get a bucket of a dozen or so hockey pucks for about $5.00 as it's the end of hockey season here. :yahoo:

If you can get 10 good pucks to 72416 for about $10 or so, pm me, i have paypal waiting :icon_thumby:

I have done this as well and it works great. The price on hockey pucks at the local hockey supply shop down the street is 50 cents a piece here in phoenix.

i ended up just getting 1" lift pucks from performance accessories. the price was very similar to getting hockey pucks in my area.

I did some work on an early 90's f350 welding truck with the huge steel deck on it.. they had used 2x4's between the deck and the frame. 17 years later, there was about 1/4" gap between the bed and the deck. some wise guy had ran the filler neck for the secondary tank between the frame and the deck, so the welder at our plant was wondering why the rear tank wouldn't take any fuel... lmao

I got the 1" pucks from PA they were like 1.99 each, and dont have to worry about anything. Got my bolts from fastenal. total price right under $48 for bolts and pucks.
