So, this weekend or next im going to replace my body mount bushings, at the same time i was wondering if there are any potential drawbacks to using hockey pucks to get an inch or so of lift?

some members claim they can break easily
why not using some tubular spacers?
cut the tube to the lenght u want.
u will need larger bolts tho

well, how about if i stacked up two sets of body mount bushings?

hmmm negative, they will thorn and break too.
i think the tube pieces are a good option if u dont want to spent on a body lift kit

I see nothing wrong with hockey pucks (to gain 1in)......... they will hold up and last just fine. I think more people are running it than you think because of the flaming that generally ensues not using OEM, or factory parts on that type of stuff.

Even that guy that used 2x4's hasn't died yet....................... emphasis on yet.

2x4 u mean tubing?

2x4 meaning wood, madera, the 84 Lumber BL, Lowes lift, Home depot jack-up.

I wouldn't put actual hockey pucks in as a body lift. They aren't really the same stuff as the body blocks, they are chemically similar, but they won't weather as well in the long run.

wtf!! who will put wood as a body lift lol
anyway if i go with tubing what diameter would work fine?

find out the size of your body bushings and go a 3/8" under that. Not that I'm recommending any body lift at all.

ohh ok, ill keep it in mind
maybe one day ill lfit the body a couple inches

I've seen wood used as lift blocks between spring and axle on a early 80's Toyota. Was about 20 years ago and the truck was in the junk yard , imagine that!
