Exactly what do you mean by bulk coolant? The local pick and pay yard sells recycled coolant but I’m looking to treat her better than that.

He was making a sarcastic remark about how 2.9s are known to have issues leaking coolant, burning coolant, blowing head gaskets, cracking heads etc so the best coolant would be anything you could buy in large quantities since you would be using a ton of it.

Making fun of 2.9s is kind of "thing" around here. You'll get used to it...

Just the regular green silicate based coolant will do, just change it every 2 years
The new coolants are for longer life, of the coolant, not the engine, so same protection and anti-freeze, just less cost if you do need to drain it or loose some from a leak
