My 2003 Ranger with a 4 cyl & 5 speed started to show a overcharge on the dash guage, I check Alt output with a meter & it was almost 16.7 Volts.I had the Alt rebuilt, I repalced the battery, and the starter just because the wires to it were green & corroded. It was fine for a couple of days then it started over charging again. I hooked my meter into the power port to check the voltage it was at 16.5 volts, then the batt light came on & the voltage went down to 14.5 volts. It did this again a couple of days latter. Now it has been staying at 14.5 volts but the dash light stay on. I have no problem starting the truck, I have checked as much of the wiring I can get at I even put a new plug on the alt. Any sugestions would be great.
I dont know if this is related but I have no interior lights, I checked all fuses Light bulbs,ECT I even went as far as changing the door switches but I still have no interior lights. Any help would be great. Thanks

The voltage is regulated from inside the alternator when you rebuilt the alt did you change the regulator? If a light comes on long enough it stays permanently on till it's reset you can do that by disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes.
