Need help wiring new cd player on 06 Ranger sport

Do I just match up the colors to each other? There seems to be all the same colors from my Ranger and from my new Cd player. I remember my old 96 Ranger did not have matching wires, I was wondering if Ford did this to make it easier to hook up.

Ps. I can order the harness kit, but I want to reuse my factory cd player else where which is why I want to remove the harness and leave it with the factory cd player.

Go pull a wire harness out of a junkyard ranger and wire it in to the other vehicle. That way you can leave the wiring in the truck alone and just get the adapter harness for it.

Never assume anything when it comes to wiring. Most radios have a connection diagram on them somewhere, if you compare the two you should be able to see if they match. Other alternative is to take out your trusty old VOM and eliminate any doubt.
