I'm new to this forum, I have a 1985 Ranger short bed 2.0L. my truck has been sitting for 10 years so I dropped the tank to drain clean it, and of course found some pin holes on top, and the sending unit/pick up tube in poor condition.

I'm having trouble finding the correct tank. Napa part number NOE 576124, looks close but it says its 50-3/4" long, mine is only 44". I think there is room for the extra length, but not 100% sure. I'm also looking for a new pickup tube / sending unit and cant find that. And while I'm at it, id like a new rubber fill tube, but cant find that either. Anyone know where to find this stuff?

Try LMC truck, they have a lot of stuff. I'll try to find the name of the company I got my filler hose from. I have an 86-8 steel tank in my 93 instead of a plastic tank- and a 93 sending unit with the fuel pump removed because my carbureted 351 wouldn't like all that pressure.

try car-part.com . There are two being shown . One aftermarket. Marengo Oh and 1in Milan Oh . 419-253-0403 and 1-419-499-2005 . 1984-1985 possibly 83 are all the fit with rubber filler hose .

I run into the same thing with my 87. Was able to get a new tank from Oreillys for pretty reasonable but the sending unit was no where to be found. I called both Ford and Dorman and was politely told "good luck." I ended up taking the sender and float off the unit and putting the whole thing in an electrolysis tank to get the rust off and cleaned up. Put that back into the tank so I could use the stock fuel line and connector. The sending unit I ordered off Amazon and mounted it in the hole that was for the vacuum canister/emissions system. I mounted a weber 32/36 carburetor so I could remove all the vacuum/emissions junk. It took some finicking around the get the float set right and mounted but so far it's working fine.
