NEED HELP 2wd to 4wd conversion for 07

This one will be slow progress because I need parts. I spent all my extra cash on christmas and buying my daughter a car. First up I am going to fix the body.

I love having the 4wd. On this one I think I am going to go with the 98-00 pvh design spindles so I can install lock outs...save a lil gas!

Damn well looks like i need to go find a 3.0 4x4 and start to part it out anything else i will need???
Also since i do have torsoin bars do i nee to find a 4x4 with them to??

4x4 only have torsion bars

Mecanically a 98 + and electrically an 04 + if your going with the electric transfer case.

What about using a explorer AWD transfer case and front diff? It would be full time 4x4 but no wiring, no holes in the floor board, just simple and cleen. I am getting started in the process of doing that to my wifes truck.

4x4 only have torsion bars

2wd sports/edges have them too. im planning on doing the swap to my truck, ive seen a couple rolled 4x4s, both 07, one for 2500 the other for 3 grand, i wish i had the money right now. plus whatever i dont use (ex. 8.8 rear, and anything else worth selling) i could regain some money back, but the only 4x4 3.0 i have seen is razorsedge on RF, so i don't know where id find a 3.0 4x4 trannie.

No I know that some 2wds have torsions in front I was saying that all 98+ 4wd are torsion setups that I know of

Sell it, buy a 4x4. The vehicle will still warranty that way if you do it you're on your own.


Not worth the effort, imo.

i felt it was worth the effort!

i converted mine a year and a half ago. i have maybe 800 bucks into it and around 30 hours of my time.

very easy for me to do.
