I have a 1992 Ford ranger with a 2.9 liter engine and had a bad seal leak in the Bell housing of the transmission. The mechanic replaced both seals and took it for a test drive and couldn't get it started, so the starter was replaced. He got that fixed and claim it could stay running, do the battery was replaced. He finished and everything was working great until he went to bring the truck back to me While driving, the truck just wouldn't go at all so he had to be towed back to his shop. He claimed he tried everything, replacing the starter and battery and the truck will stay on but just won't move. Anyone can help?

If it worked /moved before the seal replacement and now it won't...
I'd guess the trans.
As for specific reasons that's anybody's guess.
How well do you know/trust the guy doing the work?

Others will pop-in with more insight so check back.

I was referred to him by other guy that couldn't work on it because it would require the transmission to be removed. I can try running the codes on it if it'll give any off. He said it might be the transmission and can't find one for me. Thanks for the reply.
