Like I said, my truck go hit. I got off work early today to get a phone call right after I got in my car. It was my brother saying someone just ran into my truck, that was parked it front of my house, and took off. I got home in time to talk to the cops. At first glance you couldn't tell anything happened. The driver slammed into my front tire. The passenger side tire was straight and the driver side was turned to the right. The TTB drop bracket looks to have started to twist away from the cross member. The bumper on the driver side is pushed up. It looks like to whole front end is tweaked for the driver side. I'm just get more pissed the more I look under my truck. They did find the guy, he fessed up to it. The guy also ran into his own house backing up. He was sober, just didn't have a clear mind because he and his girl got into a fight. What do you guys think my chances are the the frame didn't get tweaked?

I looked at some old pics. It looks like the bumper was tweaked before the accident. Looking the the drop bracket closer it looks to be pulled away from the frame from being pushed over. I'll post pics tomorrow.

the bracket looks like it's been that way for a while....you might have gotten away with just a bent left tie rod.

Yeah, I think your right. They just came to pick up my truck and we took a good look under it. Both tie rods are all bent out of shape.

How did they "find" the guy? Usually they don't "find" anything.

his insurance should pay for you to take it to a frame shop to be checked and straightened if necessary. that along with the other front end parts and their installation. if they don't, that's when you call a lawyer. sorry for your bad luck and good luck with it.

Probably cause someone reported him running into his own house lol. Sorry about your truck but hey it could have been worse. looks like a couple hundred dollar repair vs what could have been a totalled truck.

Him and his girlfriend live together. He hit the house when leaving. His girlfriend reported that. After he hit my truck he parked it back at his house then went for a walk. He actually lives behind me on the next street over. The cops picked him up and he confessed to hitting his house but didn't say anything about my truck. When the cops drove him back by he put his had down and admitted that as well. He cooperated with the police. What had happened is him and his girlfriend got into a fight and he left to drive around and let off steam. He wasn't paying attention and didn't have a clear head, by the time he realized he was going to fast to turn onto my street it was to late. After the police released him he came by apologizing and asking me not to press charges. I told him we'll have to see about the extent of the damages but I just want to get everything fixed.

I've been pretty lucky. My mirror got knocked off in the past and that person stopped to call the cops and filled out a police report.

Yea looks like you got way lucky could have been much worse good luck with his insurence.

He has Safe Auto. I hope I'm not in for a fight. A friend of mine had tons of issues with them when he got hit by someone with Safe Auto.

I hope it goes well. Like what was said before me, that bracket looks like it has been bent for awhile. I think you got lucky and have just bent suspension parts and/or steering parts. Get it checked out by a collision specialist, they will tell you whats wrong for sure.
