I plan on doing a little work on this one. Don't know to what extent yet tho. I wanna make it look a little better. I finally got it running after about two weeks of pounding my head against the garage door. I was a little embaressed when I found the problem. Egnition wire on the wrong side of the starter sylinoid. At least I found it by myself,,lol. No one around to laugh me outta the shop. Anyway, here is the beginning, if I can get it to post. More to come.
Well never mind, It says I may not post attachments...???

You can post pictures they arent attachments. Attachments are like files for other people to download.

well something is happening. If you can see this pic, it the ranger I plan on working on. Just some paint, and fabbed bumper and a little lift for the time being. Then I may get serious about it. I also have an 88 BII I will be working on. Pics later if I can.

Its pretty rough outside and inside. But all the help I have recieved from this site will help me get it in shape. Thanks for checking it out, and I will keep you posted on the progress.

IMO that is the delux of the Gen. 1 rangers due to it being ext. cab, having the triangle windows on the doors, sliding rear window, and I wanna say 4wd but I can say that for sure, cant tell from the pictures but I assume it is. One thing I can say is why it has little to no body rust on it is because of where you live. The one thing I wish my truck was is extended cab but I can beat free!!!!

This one has a little rust on the doors, but nothing big. I live in AZ., so rust isn't a real big prob here. It is a 4x4, electric shift. I got into the interier a little today, and it really cleans up good. A fella came by today and said he would give mr 2,500 for it the way it is, if I would go ahead and paint it. I may have to start my BII build a little early..lol. I picked up a five speed with standard transfer case today, and also two Dana 30 first generation diffs for nothing.

You mean D30 jeep axles or D28 ranger?? I'm confused because you said D30 first gen.

They are older straight axels from a bronco I think he said. So I guess they would be the D28 huh? Not real sure. I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum, and it is sure helping me understand a few things. Any way the guy said he thought they were about 3 inchs wider than the ones that are in there now.

Gotta give it up...

Well, this was a short build thread. The guy I mentioned that wanted to buy my truck came back around and got a little more aggresive with his offer, so I guess I am going to sell the ranger. I will have enough money from that to start on my BII build. I will start a new thread on that soon.
How much is an 88 ranger worth in the shape mine is in anyway? I am thinking it is an STX. Does that make it worth more? I am getting 2500.00 for it as is. Before I was asking that after I painted it, if I decided to sell it at all.

to be honest, id give you $600
TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN!!!!!

Got bad news and good news. First the guy backed out on the ranger buy.l Good news. I really don't care. I wanted to do some things to the ranger anyway. So I will continue this thread as I have started work on it again today. Noyhing worthy of pics yet. Will start posting as soon as there is.
