My New House & Workshop

The shop looks 5% better.....

Not sure what color I'm going to paint this building. I feel like it should match the house so it all looks uniform...

My house is some type of a yellow shade. Not my first choice, but I'm not going to waste money replacing the siding.

Maybe I can paint my shop red like a barn.

I like the red and black.

Find a small piece of siding or trim off your house, take it down to Lowe's and let them scan it and match the color. If their machine is working correctly, it will amaze you how close the color match can be. The only thing I have had throw it off is their machine being out of calibration, or I pick the wrong sheen. Flat, semi-gloss, or gloss will make the color look different.

Installed a box, ran the wire in to it, and plugged the wire hole with a piece of the drywall I cut out and some construction adhesive. Touched up the wall with some compound and then painted it before mounting the new light fixture.
I'd think about rewiring the whole place before sleeping there.

So you're saying I shouldn't loosen that back up and light a match? Seems like an easy way to make the hole in the side of the building bigger to drive through.

Well, now, have at 'er, but don't file an insurance claim after. You were planning to blow a hole in the building anyway, so.....

You know, I was wanting to build a new building on this slab, but couldn't afford the demo. Need to see how much this building is insured for.

You have a brilliant idea @1990RangerinSK

Well ya, it's premature for that.

Two thoughts.

Reinstall that light the exact way you found it, but close to the gas meter. Then you can build on the slab.

Or, all you guys are mostly country boys. Just paint the shop camouflage and forget about it.

just trying to help...

I've been having issues installing new lights.

I painted my deer blind camo three years ago...still can't find it.

So while the entire... "loosen the gas line and let her burn" idea is still on everyone's mind... I have to close out a Report we received about that very issue. It was reported that Insurance Fraud was being suggested by a member and was certainly illegal activity.

It appears to me that the entire community... and Jim Oaks himself... received the comment exactly as it was intended to be received. A JOKE... plain and simple.

I don't plan on taking any disciplinary action against the original poster of the said offense.

As always... if you feel a post needs to be reviewed due to illegal activity or offensive nature... by all means... use the report function and report the post.

Carry on...

There is one in every crowd.

LOL.

Where's people sense of humor? I can't believe anyone would think I would commit insurance fraud. Especially since the ideas were so clearly ridiculous. :icon_confused:
