I'm new to the website, I was a member over at ranger forums but I'm trying to broaden my horizons a bit and see what information I can find on here. I was wondering if anyone can answer a few questions that I have. I know there's a million posts on here about cheap lifts but I have sort of specific questions. I want to make my truck slightly more capable but nothing drastic, just to give it a meaner stance and let me reach more places. In any case I plan on cranking my T-bars, I'm aware of the pros and cons and how to do it but I only want to go about two inches. I bought belltech 6400's and I'm looking into tires right now hopefully I'll be able to get 2" in the rear as well. I'd like to avoid a body lift. What I want to know is:
Do I only need to buy new shocks for the rear end after lifting? Also I read up about measuring for new shocks but I don't know how to derive the right number, I measure from the shock mount to axle then subtract the distance of the shock mounts to the bump stop?
For tires I've been looking at 31" BF M/T's but could I fit 33's without a body lift? Is there some factor I'm overlooking?
(I measured the distance from the center of the wheel to the top of the fender and for height it looks like I should be alright but I don't think the well is quite long enough to fit 33's. I did read the post in the tech library about wheel sizes but It didn't clarify what I'm confused about. And I understand gears)
Will I need to get brake line extensions for the front and rear?
After installing the shackles in the rear do I need to install larger blocks to accommodate the lift?
Any help with any of these questions is much appreciated, Thanks
