My Build, All Parts And Prices ***2016 Updated*** still not done...

are you doing hydro assist or is that not possible with the yota box?

Yup, it's getting hydro assist as well!

New front diff is in the shop...Wahoo!

i have never seen a knuckle with the bevel on the outside. Looks pretty cool

It fits in the nicely..... like the old D35! Thats 5.5" from frame to top of axle tube at full bump.

It's 1/2" at spots, and not much between the tube and the 'inside' of the crossmember. I basically lifted the axle until it started to hit stuff, then lowered it just enough to feel safe clearance. It's gonna get some healthy bumpstops and fit REALLY tight, I want this thing able to tuck 40's and be no taller at ride height then it was on 37's.

Got my heater box finished last night, and the intake notched for upper firewall clearance. It's sitting in there now, with a 1x4 between the oilpan and the crossmember for 'clearance'. I'm just waiting on an order from RuffStuff for my motor mount bushings, then it's gonna get permanently fixed in there.

The floor is going to take minor work from the shifter hole forward to clear the NV4500 (a 1" body lift would make it clear) and other then that it's slowly coming together.

hmmm.

this is not as much for wahlstrom1 as maybe a different thought for someone planning on this.(if you dont mind wahlstrom1)

i missed way too much. i love it though:icon_thumby:

with sas, and your low slung 40 in tire goals the k member is iffy for time/cost benefit. with no body lift i am very impressed with your attitude and thought process working in that confined option base with a end goal like yours. very interested in this.

hvac,

based on my measurements though with sas you have possibly 2 inches of room there to move that engine down, and based on your actual photos cutting the box should not be necessary if you did that, hot lampin or heat gunnin it should clear what you have shown with a non ac box. adapting the non ac g van metel setup is am option as well. welding that thing up would be easier then a nap for ya.

bottom line just simply look at the hvac for what it is..just moves air from a to b out there:icon_thumby:. wont be shit for you to make your own light gauge metal air vent box. even if its made from actual hvac metal.

engine k member with sas.

fawk that ttb k member....may it be recycled into necessary components.

k member and stock front suspension.

learn to weld and weld really good. especially aluminum.:dunno:

steering.

fawk that d9 box. if it is limiting your or stopping you, throw that thing in the lake... rather hang a gm unit on the rail when push comes to shove as it also helps with the steering shaft, not to mention opening up room for exaust options....adapt a jeep shaft/gm combination. hoses with l/s stuff likely custom though with an old school box, never looked to that directly. i am sure there are adapters in any case at minimum as these come up in old cars daily..

cooling.

open it up. we are not in 4.0 land anymore totos.

its crazy how guys mod shit to fit a fuggin hemi and 40 inch tires with 6 thousand in axles and custom suspension to stay at factory ride height ... but modding the core support area and front rails, simply making room and use of available real estate, for proper fitting of what needs to be there, is some sacred line that cant be crossed:icon_confused: why is that so common a problem?

fit a proper size unit. cant go wrong with a griffin recomondation if you have the coin for that. makes me jealous.

just ideas on basic issues. i have been doing stupid shit a long long time and one thing i learned, if i want to get something done in a reasonable amount of time....to save the trying to make shit look stock untill after i prove its possible in the simplest manner possible.

awesome job:icon_thumby:

ice cold ac?

i dont see a problem with that:dunno:

maybe consider a custom k member, and over rail headers.

fits much better then i measured.:icon_thumby:
