My Build, All Parts And Prices ***2016 Updated*** still not done...

A 94' or older non A/C box should be fine, might need a little reforming. Headers are gonna be fun...

As for the slang, I've heard it since I was a kid... dunno eh? lol.

Did you try F-body manifolds? That is what i had to use on the C10.

So i take it you are NOT using a BL at all??

I haven't found a set yet, but I know it will be tight and custom headers are probably the easiest route.

I have ZERO body lift, and 'knock on wood' the original body mounts and bushings are in great shape so I have no intention of pulling them apart. Plus... the truck would be HUGE! I'm trying to keep it as low as I can. The top of the header panel sit's at 5' as it is!

I dont think mine is that high, but its pretty close. I dont want to do a BL either, but im trying to keep all the accesories.

Are you going with the corvette acc. drive?

Check the classifieds section on LS1Tech.com They always have a shit ton of parts for sale

you forgot to say "you hose head" :D

After I get the frame all cleaned up/plated and drop the engine back in I'll grab my video camera and do a walk around for you guys to give a better idea of the clearances and how it fits.

thanks for the pics bud.

What made you want to stick with the LQ4 intake over the LS1/6 intake? Its a shit ton shorter.

Looks like we are going to have to move the radiator towards the header panel more. Are you going to use a stock radiator or go custom? I take it you are going dual electric fans as well?

Also, are you building your own crossmember or keeping the Ranger one?

Swapping a car intake would involve swapping all the front accessories ($$$) and parts would be a lot less common. Griffin makes wicked custom sized aluminum rads and a buddy just got one for his buggy with dual elec. fans for $550 shipped to his door so thats the route I'll probably take.

So far I have the stock crossmember, with no reason to change it unless I can't get an oil pan to fit nicer (lower) in which case I may have to take a little bit out of the center and drop it enough to get the tranny to clear the tunnel nicely. Even right now it's only a few hits with a sledge away from fitting, so lowering it an inch via. oil pan should give me all the clearance I need.

Hmm, I was thinking it was going to be a 6.0L powerstroke...

lol i was wondering how long it was gonna take....

on a side note my my gfs old landlord had a 2500hd with the 6.0 in it and i always was trying to figure out how big in bubic inch it was, isnt it like 383 or somthing?

i thought you were going with Corvette acc drive?

Great minds think alike! I am gonig the griffin route as well. Ran one on my 69 firebird, and it was fantastic.

Cost is a factor... I'm still under 2k on this build from where it was before! Cheapest vette setup I could find was over $700, and with the truck stuff parts are everywhere. There's also no guarentee I can fit the stock steering box with the vette stuff so toyota steering box it is!

Tight fit but doable. I had to hack the heater box like you to fit the SOHC engine. The Griffin rad is an awesome choice. Buddy at work ordered a Griffin for his '32 Ford. Thing is almost a work of art.
