I guess I'd better make one of these doohickey's about my Ranger too. I have officially had it one year now (purchased Oct 19, 2009). I bought it with 107,XXX miles on it, and after a year it's at 115,XXX. I picked it up for 2700, which I felt was a steal. I've done a few things to it already....... anyway, here she is.
This was a few weeks after I bought her:
I've added these 98-99 tails to it:
I added a new stereo to it (it still had the factory pos in it). Also I added fog lights to it. Since a bezel is so damn hard to find with a fog light switch, I made one from an Explorer bezel. A cigarette lighter bung fits perfectly where the wiper switch goes for an Explorer.
I added these Pioneer 6X8's and put Quick Roof on the doors in lieu of Dynamat. It works and sounds great. My truck just smelled like tar and pine trees (air freshener) for 4 or 5 weeks.
I also added these tweets. The Pioneer's have great bass, but they leave a lot to be desired in the highs. These tweets were actually in my Explorer, but I liked them so much that I ganked them before I sold it.
I went to the local Certifit dealer and got a valance with fog light holes for about 15 bucks. I got the fog lights at Harbor Freight for under 10 bucks a piece. so all I needed was a bracket to hang them.
Now that I had the switch installed, valance installed, and fog lights purchased; all I needed was a bracket to hang them. The factory brackets are impossible to find....and if you do, that person knows they are a "B" to find.......so they want way more than my cheap ass wants to pay. Anyway, I made these out of some 2 inch angle iron.
