Well after several days of thought and contemplation I am leaning towards waiting a while for jumping into a SAS due to several reasons:
1- I still haven't had any problems with the 35 other than one bearing detonating itself
2-I have not pushed the limits nor found something a rig with a 44 could do and I couldn't
3-I would like this to be very street friendly rig and going FW would lead to several more hurdles to jump

So I am going to just work out all the little quirks and start piecing together a doubler first and running 35s when I get back.
Also another upgrade I have been wanting to do is remove the foot operated e brake and install a hand operated one. I found lokar, they make the handle and universal cable kits. Hopefully having a easy access hand brake will keep me from rolling backwards downhill and breaking stuff, and moving the cables off the outside of the framerails will be a plus too.

My buddy back in the states is getting many packages shipped to his house soon lol.

Good looking truck. Forgot how beautiful the LR area is. Haven't been there in a couple of years since I was TDY there and went to tech school there. Good ol' Afghanistan, was just there last year. Def liking the front bumper and still can't make up my mind with what aftermarket front bumper i want for my B2. Good luck over there man. The deployed pics kinda remind me of Bagram.

You've got a great looking truck! Definitely the route I'm looking to go with mine!

Thanks guys

Yep I am bringing this thread back from the dead again! Well I have about 2 months left in Afghanistan so if you are hoping for an update with pics, sorry. I have decided to build my truck basically into my perfect weekend warrior. I see very little advantage to SAS the front end to anything less than tons with 40s (and if I did that I would need to get a tow rig and trailer, both of which is out of my budget/lifestyle currently)

So I am keeping the D35 (it hasn't broken yet!) Basically I do not want to modify anything on the truck to any extreme that:
-needs to be towed
-is not street legal
-I would not feel comfortable loading up the gear and driving for a day or so to a location

So since I am keeping the 35 I want to mod it a little bit. I am ordering duff extended radius arms (my extended ones work however I hate the bushing design of the mounts) and duff coil buckets. I am going to eventually try out EB coils so the buckets will accomplish that as well as allow for dual shocks and eliminate the stupid stem upper shock mount.

I have already ordered some flexy flares to trim my fenders. I do not want to run the ltbs anymore because they started getting on my nerves (noise/vibes), sucked on wet pavement/hard packed snow, and chunked out easily on the rock down in AR. I am going to get goodyear mtrs with kevlar, just have not decided on 33x12.50 or 35s. (I am worried about braking/steering power, any thought on this)

I am getting a DD machine doubler kit. Has anyone done the B2 tank swap, had a doubler and retained the stock bed without cutting out the bottom of it? I do not want to take up toolbox/bed space with a fuel cell so undermount is my only option, if someone has ideas please let me know(would also like minimum 15g of cap.). I could build a custom bed, but mine isn't messed up yet like everyone elses:thefinger:

For the interior the carpet is definitely going (I spilled about half a gallon of oil and a liter of cola 2 days before I left)I will put monstaliner on the inside.

Pretty much those are my immediate plans I am spitballing. Any critiscm/comments welcome. Sorry for no actual update.

don't worry bout' the "No real update".....your service outweighs that X10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 :icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

dunno bout' the BII tank...but I plan to try a mid 90's F150 rear tank since I don't want to lose bed space as well....will let ya know how that turns out in a couple weeks...

as for the 35, the Duff stuff will work great for what you want....only possible thing I would consider is doing a 44 knuckle swap....better bearings and much stronger lock-outs....

and just who were you referencing about a messed up bed:D:thefinger::thefinger:

What's wrong with radius arm bushings? Heims are just going to clunk around as they wear IMO.

It's not that I don't want bushings, but the way the arms/mounts are designed you have to cut the forward bushing down. I have ran the arms maybe about 2000 miles and already toasted one set of bushings. Also I cannot go to full lock on my steering, which I am hoping the duff arms will remedy. I have heard nothing but good about the duff arms and the rod ends I doubt will be clunky

Well I got back from afghanistan a couple days ago! The truck turned right over after sitting for 6 months and I didn't even disconnect the batterie lol. I just dropped 1600 on tires and wheels, hopefully they get here soon! Fender flares this week, off road park next weekend!

cool.....glad ya back home safe:icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

what tires and wheels did ya get???

33 BFG km2s and some flat black rock crawler rims. 5 total so I will have a full size matching spare, I just need to come up with a way to haul it around. I'm really sick of the ltbs and ready for the new meats

Put in bucket seats and replaced my armrest today. Pick and pull had 1/2 off sale so it was only 18 bucks. I need to get a console soon. Pics to come soon.

nice....can't wait to see the pics.....
