My 87 Ranger I will be restoring soon I want to keep track of my progress and add information as I find it.

@SenorNoob I made a run to the junkyard after work. From now on I will start getting any factory sensor I can find from the bone yard other than an O2 sensor. I will have a post below on that.

Went to the boneyard. I think I am just dealing with a faulty aftermarket sensor. I got the two water sensors and another throttle body. I will start getting sensors from the yards as I find them. I did find two badges, the clips that will hold my tonneau cover. Also got plugs to power to my air pumps for the seats. I will fab up a harness.

RockAuto is showing a 3 prong and 4 prong O2 sensor. I can see at least 3. I will have my son who can see better than me if there is a 4th prong. This is less then a year old but was unaware of the number of prongs. Could be part of my running rich issue.

This was a failure today. I was excited to start on getting my headliner ready to be installed in the next couple of days but it may just be a bad can. I will get another glue tomorrow and try again.

I will be going back to the boneyard soon. I found a black tube bumper, a great rear bumper that is chrome and a bed liner in a parts truck.

They have some 2.8. I hear the distributors are hard to find. They have some there. I can get them for cost and shipping or other small parts if needed. I found a truck with the tan tonneau cover I will be getting in the next trip to there.

They have a plentiful supply of 3rd gen trucks as well.

That's about a 13 hour drive for me....3rd gens are getting rare around here.

3 and 4 wire oxygen sensors have the same connector and same pinout, the extra wire is the ground for the heater. You can literally count the wires going to the connector on both sides. A 3 wire sensor will work in a 4 wire application but the computer has less control over the heater circuit so is slower response and relies on the quality of the ground to the sensor through the exhaust system...

@rumblecloud Anything that is 10 years or older can start to be a problem to find parts for. I at times can struggle with a first gen for parts. When I find them, I get them as quick as I can.

@scotts90ranger Thanks for the information on the O2 sensors, I will need to start getting back into that information soon again.

Things got thrown off course for a bit and just getting back to the Ranger. I survived a heart attack and getting back on my feet again. I was able to get the bone yard and got a new bumper, bed liner, and tail gate cover. I also found a solid bed that I will pick up next week. My impact wrench would not break the bolts free. It is a rust free bed and the bed I have now has a lot of hail damage so I am waiting for the yard to pull it for me.

Got the bed liner in. I will install bumper this weekend.

I’m guessing this came from Ford. It has Ford on header panel. Bedliner needs a bath. The truck I got it from was full of debris at the yard.

This is the bed I bought and will pick up next week. It has a little damage on the driver rear side but I should be able to fix it. I am going to Cruzin the Coast but this winter I plan on repainting my truck as it has a lot of hail damage. Thus bed is in better shape then my current bed.
